Can you imagine pulling together a guide team or a faculty including the likes of C.S. Lewis, Dallas Willard, A.W. Tozer, George Macdonald, G.K. Chesterton, Dan Allender, Oswald Chambers, Richard Rohr, Susan Hursh, Thomas A’Kempis, John Eldredge, Greg Boyd, Leanne Payne, and more? These are just a few of the teachers and guides that have walked with God and entrusted to us the truths they've discovered along their journeys.
We have attempted to assemble a list that we believe is helpful and important to the Life of More (a life of living more abundantly in Christ). This is not just an academic pursuit, mind you … this is an invitation to an experiential one - experiencing the life and love and freedom of God, and allowing everything and anything in the way of that experience to be taken out of the way.
We are all apprentices—learning how to be like Jesus—becoming our True Selves. It is our hope and prayer that you step into this journey well. On this great journey of becoming, we all will need a guide, comforter, counselor, and teacher—ALL the things the Holy Spirit is, and all His resources to see us safely home.
The Lead Guide and Dean of the Department
Few writers had as much impact on Christianity in the 20th Century as C.S. Lewis. His books continue to take readers much further into Christianity than just the facts, truths, or theology of the faith. Lewis invites us into much more—themes of longing, desire, and invitation to experience, feel, and truly observe. It is like the difference between looking at the mathematical formulas that would enable a biplane to fly verses sitting in the two-seater with an experienced pilot punching holes in the clouds and chasing a sunset. Which would you believe to be more impacting? We don't want to stop at the chalkboard either ... we'll take the clouds!
