...and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. - Colossians 2:20

The very word authority has within it the word author. An author is someone who creates and possesses a particular work. Insofar as God is the foundation of all authority, He exercises that foundation because He is the author and the owner of His creation. He is the foundation upon which all other authority stands or falls. - R.C. Sproul

It is one thing to announce you are going to do something … it is another to see it done. Being capable and still following through is to accomplish something within one's ability or skill.

Artists have the ability to bring a work to its fullness. Because of who they are and the creative power which they posses, a work of art is brought to its fullness, and when it is, the artist puts it on display, full of his or her craftsmanship; a part of the artist hangs within the painting or is present within the lines of a sculpture.

An author brings a story or poem to life simply by pouring out the words on a page, transferring from his or her heart and soul to the work that is within them to offer. When the author is done with all his edits, with all her expressions and corrections, their work is offered for others to read and experience.

Christ is our Savior, Christ is the King … He is Artist and Author with the power and authority, the ability and skill to craft us back to life. Jesus said He came to offer Life and Life to the full (John 10:10). That is exactly what He did and does.

Over the years, there are other powers and authorities that have also been at work in my life … lesser powers and authorities who have spoken lies into my life … false things about me, God, and others. A whisper of shame, a quiet taunting of inadequacy, a devious doubt have all taken their turns at leaving me less ... leaving me empty.

Thank God, He wouldn’t have it!

Thank God, He came to declare something and see it through!

I am and am becoming more and more myself through the work of the great Artist, the glorious Author who possesses both the power and authority to see me done. It is what we long for and what we were made for ... fullness, complete, not lacking anything. There is only one who can see this great work accomplished.

The One who Loves us back to Life.

And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power]. - Colossians 2:20 (AMP)

The Daily Prayer - Paragraph 3

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and choosing me before you made the world[3]. You are my true Father – my Creator, my Redeemer, my Sustainer and the true end of all things, including my life. I love you, I trust you, I worship you. Thank you for proving your love for me by sending your only Son, Jesus, to be my substitute and representative.[4] I open up my life anew to all of his Life and all his work, which you ordained for me.[5] Thank you for including me in Christ,[6] for forgiving me my sins, [7]for granting me his righteousness, [8]for making me complete in him.[9] Thank you for making me alive with Christ[10], raising me with him,[11] seating me with him at your right hand,[12] granting me his authority[13] and anointing me with your Holy Spirit.[14] I receive it all with thanks and give it total claim to my life.

The Daily Prayer Devotional

The Daily Prayer English
The Daily Prayer, is a prayer passed along and taught to us by John Eldredge and our allies at Wild at Heart. We have learned over the years that we used to pray for many things that we already possessed and truths that God has already given us. Therefore, instead of asking, we align our hearts with God and declare what is true.
