Chapter 3: It's Worse Than We Think

Just as the chapter is titled, until we see the problem (not just the symptoms of the problem), we will be mis-diagnosing and mis-prescribing. Doing so plays right into the enemy’s hands.

The first steps to healing are back into history... each man going back into his story. Most men underestimate the impact of their past and the affect the past has on our hearts today.

A man’s wounding past is responsible for the construction of his false self.

Every man has lost ground and has been compromised. Naivety is an important subject in this chapter. Being unaware is no way to live. Naivety, a key ingredient to disorientation, is what leads to a compromised life—the living of a life that is less. The transition in the chapter is at the section titled: Called Up.

I want the reader to feel the weight of how bad our condition is and the significance of being invited up and into something large—a role and mission that is waiting for him! I hope to provoke the reader’s inner man to walk with God for honest evaluation, inventory, and assessment through an examination of the heart—going back into the story starting at boyhood. This may lead to discovering for the first time what has shaped him and created his unique and individual false-self.

I thought it best to end on a high note of encouragement declaring YES, it is far worse than most men think ... BUT it can be far better than we could possibly imagine. Again, I am hoping to invite men to the journey, and if they will take it, they can discover the really, really good news!

Our desire is to help men and women experience more love, more life, and more freedom by enjoying more intimacy, oneness, and connectedness with God and others. Zoweh is a partner supported mission. We'd love for you to partner with us!
