Why are you interested in pursuing this initiative? I’m ready to pour into the lives of younger men that need to know the compass of their heart and impact of being oriented
Tell us about your family: Deb and I have two wonderful sons that bless us daily! They reaped the joy of coming up in a home that I (vowed) they would never experience the trauma I experienced. While driving home from the Heart of the Warrior with my Son, He opened up and stated he never was wounded by Deb or I and he cried for those that did (Especially the fresh Prince of Bel Air).
What is your experience with Zoweh events and/or resources? Attended multiple times for HOW weekends, was on the team that previewed King Me. Currently conducting Art of Marriage training at our Church for 6 couples and mentoring 2 young Law Enforcement Officers at the Wilson’s Mills Police Department.
How did you first connect with Jesus in a personal way? I gave my life to Christ at the young age of 8.
Tell us about a time when you shared your Jesus story. I have shared my story often and as recent as driving home with my Son Kevin!
Explain your familiarity with the following terms: wounds, vows and agreements. Yes, I am the definition of receiving wounds, and drawing a line in the sand and making a declaration that I will never….. One was I am taking this one story to my grave because it hurt so much to my young fragile heart!
Tell us about a significant wounding moment that you experienced. In reference to the above, About 4 months after I had given my life to Christ, two older teens introduced me to Playboy and Penthouse then proceeded to sexually assault me. I was ashamed, wounded, suddenly disoriented, and filled with fear that I disappointed God. I hid this story by developing a poser mentality. This sudden change in spiritual trajectory certainly confused and caused my True Self to fade as the days and events occurred. The mini tachycardia Wounds between the Major wounds kept me mentally and spiritually prone to stay ashamed. I remember my pulse quickened at the smallest of things! How long can this go on? I was crying out but feared my parents would just hate me even more for embarrassing them. Then Valentine’s Day at school was quickly approaching and I suddenly dreaded the valentines card exercise because I wasn’t worthy of praise or acceptance. My mom called me into the kitchen and handed me about 2 dozen Valentines cards to fill out. Oh no! I won’t . I am not going to fill out these! (I wanted so much to tell her why I was feeling the way I felt, but just didn’t get the opportunity!) Mom said, Oh yes you will because I went and bought these for you. This was followed by her quick back hand that landed on my upper thigh which caused me to shift in the tall barstool and lose my balance and fall. On the way to the floor my lip caught the black vertical steel support that was holding up the back of the chair and ripped my mouth open. I felt and tasted the sudden warm gush of blood quickly covering my t-shirt and all the valentines cards which I had carried to the floor with me. My dad quickly intervened and after stabilizing the scene, carried me to the emergency room for 20 plus stitches and absence from elementary school which was a little win! I vowed I would take this story to my grave!

Give an example of how you have heard from God. The first time I have heard from God and knew it was the first night back on patrol with the New Hanover County Sheriffs Department after bringing home our 1st Son. It was around 2:30 AM and on Hunters Trail Zip Mart when I heard God and/or my Guardian Angel verbally yell out” Turn around” which prevented me from being ambushed and killed that early morning behind a convenience store!
