Why are you interested in pursuing this initiative?:
To support and be supported by like-minded men of similar life experience.
Tell us about your family::
Married to Carol for 43 years...been through a lot. $ grown children, three walking with the Lord, and one still working on their testimony. 12 grandchildren ages 16 to 2.
What is your experience with Zoweh events and/or resources?:
I have attended a Heart of a Warrior weekend, participated in the Rendezvous Project with Carol, and regularly attended East Coast weekly calls for King Me. I am currently involved with Heart of a Warrior, encouraged by Don Brown to apply.
How did you first connect with Jesus in a personal way?:
I have walked very imperfectly with Jesus most of my 67 years. Since I was a young child, I have wanted to be close to Jesus. Raised in a very devout Roman Catholic family, I discovered the actual presence of the Holy Spirit in my mid-20s in a charismatic fellowship, always praying Jesus would change me when I really needed Him to fill me. I am a surrendered man who knows that God loves me and has chosen me, in the deepest part of my heart.
Tell us about a time when you shared your Jesus story.:
After learning the pivotal role that Shame has played in my life and how that had crippled me for many years, I have surrendered my shame to Jesus. I can speak about my journey with Jesus without being self-conscious, fearing rejection, or ridicule, so I tell my story readily and often.
Explain your familiarity with the following terms: wounds, vows and agreements.:
I have been involved with Zoweh and WAH for many years. I am all too familiar with the wounds I have suffered, as well as the vows and agreements I've made. God has been faithful in continuing to show me and help me recover from the wounds, break the vows, and agreements that have held me back.
Tell us about a significant wounding moment that you experienced.:
I recently discovered through Christian counsel that I was not wanted when my mother was pregnant with me, and that I could never measure up to her approval.
Explain your personal familiarity with spiritual warfare.:
I have learned a great deal about Spiritual warfare over the last 30 to 40 years...fighting for my family, friends, and myself. I am very aware of the reality that only two kingdoms exist.
Give an example of how you have heard from God.:
The last 9 months have been a period of pain, loss, and significant spiritual growth for me. Just before this started, God said to me that He loved me, and this was for my good.
Have you had any training in listening and/or engaging in another man's story?:
I have been a member of men's small groups for many years, and in my profession as a Registered Nurse, I have learned to listen carefully. I have helped and been helped by many friends.
Which of the following books have you read?: King Me, The Heart of a Warrior, The Screwtape Letters, The Sacred Romance, It’s Your Call, Wild At Heart, Mere Christianity
How did you discover the Elder-Sage Initiative?: Another Elder-Sage
What is the best time to call you?: Depends on the day but late afternoon or early evening are almost always good.
