I have a heart for reaching the next generation and for sharing the love, grace, and wisdom that the Lord has multiplied into my life. I have been Blessed by men who have spoken into my life and circumstances and desire to do the same for others.
I was raised as an only child in Michigan. In college I met my wife, got married, began a career, moved to Maryland, and by God's grace met Retta and me in 1979 after the birth of our first child. We have been blessed with eight children, four men and four women, ages 45 down to 28. Number 12 grandchild is on the way. Six of our children are walking with Jesus and two are not.
I am friends with Rusty Eckman and just attended Dangerous for God.
I was at a business meeting and responded to an altar call. I had "gone forward" before but not surrendered. God continues to amaze me and move me down the path of sanctification.
I have been growing in Disciple making, including working with men in recovery. The most recent would likely be with one of the men at the Ranch (a recovery house). My story , in addition to my time of initial acceptance / surrender, usually includes struggles in my own life and how He has met and healed me.
I learned about wounds (Father and Mother specifically), the strength and dangers of Vows, and facets of agreements through Waterboyz. I am looking forward to diving deeper in all three areas.
In looking back on my past there were times that I experienced abandonment. It was really just coming home to an empty house because of my parents work schedule. A year ago our eldest Son cut us off because of our toxic Christianity. God continues to work through the rest of the family staying in his life, but that is the most significant wound to date.
As with my Son above, we are aware of the battle that surrounds us and the importance of our awareness and response. I have, by God's Grace, taken it to a new level through the book Experiencing Jesus. Really. by John Eldridge.
In our recent move to Hagerstown, God spoke to us and moved processes along for us on at least 5 occasions over a three month period. Partial list:
> Called us out of our local Church
> Had landlord decide to sell the house
> Provided a perfect landing spot and protected the price
> Called me into assisting a new ministry in Hagerstown
...
Only through Discovery Bible Studies and other Discipling tools.

I have a variable schedule, but mid morning is usually best.
