We must therefore make it our primary goal not just to hear the voice of God but to be mature people in a loving relationship with Him. Only in this way will we hear him rightly.

Dallas Willard

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

John 10:27

As our Father, God is inviting us into this same conversational process as we journey with Him.

In order to engage with God in this way, we need to take a moment to explore the question, Does God still speak? I love what Dallas Willard says about this in his book, Hearing God:

In our attempts to understand how God speaks to us and guides us, we must above all hold on to the fact that it is to be sought only as a part of a certain kind of life, a life of loving fellowship with the King and his other subjects in the Kingdom of the Heaven. We must never forget that God’s speaking to us is intended to develop into an intelligent, freely cooperative relationship between mature people who love each other (God and us) with the richness of genuine agape (deep and unconditional) love. We must therefore make it our primary goal not just to hear the voice of God but to be mature people in a loving relationship with Him. Only in this way will we hear him rightly.

Like Willard, I believe that God speaks to us.

When was the last time you heard from God? If it has been too long, it is time you start believing that God wants to communicate to you important things for the important journey you are on. It is time we all started listening. It is time to see and hear.

Search and Rescue

Search and Rescue Book Resource

We desperately need to recover the critical components of a much Larger Story, the pieces of a Larger Gospel that have been lost, misplaced, misunderstood, underestimated or worse, stolen. Search and Rescue is an invitation to look for what has been lost in our lives and more importantly, to actually be the one that needs to be searched for, rescued and restored.

In Search and Rescue, Michael Thompson encourages believers and those curious to the faith to accompany him in the quest to find the Life and the Love we were meant for… There is a Life and a Love that is looking for you. Are you ready to be found?
