Chapter 14: Following the King

After heavy training modules and some “how to’s”, I want to take one more shot at how good our King is and what He has done to provide for this life. It is easy to fall to the subtle and historical lie, “I have to do this on my own.” The enemy loves this lie and will never ever give up trying to plant it or water it and see it grow.

These times of training and restoration can be long seasons and can be heavy to carry for a man who is doing battle. It is far too easy to forget who we are and why we are opposed.

Jesus lived above his circumstances. Therefore we can.
The belief I hold dear and stress extensively in this chapter is that if we see Him as more, larger, and better, then we will directly reclassify ourselves as more, larger, and better!

Never forget: We are becoming like Jesus. All false beliefs need to be dealt with and treated—especially those lies pertaining to the Father and those regarding Jesus the Son. The controversy is: if we are becoming like Him and we don’t really like Him or can’t really trust Him, this is a huge problem!

In this chapter, I want to show a variety of ways in which Jesus can be trusted, en- joyed, admired, and loved. If we see Jesus without the glorious characteristics and qualities of fierce love, divine courage, and determined strength, then we miss Him and will ultimately miss who we are becoming and who we are invited to be!
