Yellow Rose Forge is a marketplace ministry started by me and my kids. The Yellow Rose name comes from two places. First, it was my mom's favorite flower. It's a way for us to honor her memory. She was more to my family than words can ever express. Secondly, it is a reference to Song of Solomon 2:1: "I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
There is some symbolism in that passage, but it comes down to this. We are Christians, and the Yellow Rose stamp identifies us as part of the church, the bride of Christ. It is a way to honor God in all that we make. As a bladesmith, I have found that people will come to my shop who will never come to my church. This uniquely positions me to reach people who might be otherwise unreachable. God has called me to share the concept of "Redeemed Steel," in order to share the gospel. With this in mind, I joined with other smiths to create the Redeemed Steel Network, a group of craftsmen committed to using their talents and gifts for the kingdom.
