Sometimes a Man Needs a Second Chance at Having a Second Chance
It's always a deep-felt honor when we get to partner with another Kingdom mission to invite men to encounter God's love for them in an intimate and experiential way.
Our team recently had the honor to return to Helping Up Mission (HUM) in Baltimore and partner for a second time to encourage and care for around 100 men who have committed themselves to an intense year long live in recovery program.
The men in this program have hit absolute rock bottom – for many of them, this year-long program might be their last glimmer of hope for a better future. They know all too well that recovery means something precious was lost or taken.
Our mission? To offer them encouragement, hope, and a way forward.
One of these men, named Nicholas, shared that his life spiraled out of control when he lost his mother to cancer a few years ago, the beginning of what led him to HUM. He said,
"What you said about spiritual warfare – I knew it was there, but I didn't know how I could be equipped to defend myself, to guard my heart. Thank you." - Nicholas, HUM participant
These men are from all different backgrounds—from homelessness to former executive offices—yet they have this in common: they are all here for a second chance.
And some of them are here for a second chance at having a second chance.
We want every man to experience the freedom of the gospel in his heart and his life – the John 10:10 "full and abundant LIFE (Zoweh)."
We are so honored that we get to help guide men toward Jesus for healing and wholeness!
